ELLE Fictions and MAX: Fall 2020 programming

The ELLE Fictions channel was created in August 2019 in partnership with the Lagardère Group, owner of the world-renowned ELLE brand. The partnership has been an outstanding success with ELLE Fictions reaching an average of 1.2 million viewers per week* over the past year. Viewers were mainly females 25 to 54, a demographic that remained loyal throughout the 2019–2020 Season.

To continue building on this momentum, ELLE Fictions has added two exciting new series exclusive to its fall programming schedule: the cult classic Suits and the Presque une famille (Almost Family) family drama. ELLE Fictions is also once again banking on classic shows that have made their mark on the television landscape over the years and that continue to feed the ever-growing need for nostalgia. And starting in October, it will introduce the new seasons of Beautés désespérées (Desperate Housewives), Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, and Les contes d’Avonlea (Road to Avonlea) that everyone has been waiting for. The fall programming schedule also includes Season 2 of the new generation of Dynastie (Dynasty).

Movies are an integral part of the programming schedule as well. Thanks to its exclusive agreement with Hallmark, ELLE Fictions has access to a vast catalogue of movies guaranteed to round out the kind of feel-good experience our viewers depend on us for. Not to mention plenty of new releases and great cinematic classics to add extra appeal to the viewing menu, with touching tales about love, family, friendship…and much more!

The turnaround that began at MAX a few years ago continues to be a great success. With viewership up 224% since 2016, MAX is now the No. 3 most watched specialty channel in the F25-54 target group (excluding sports and news channels). No less than 1.6 million viewers per week – men and women – tuned in to MAX last year**. Numbers like that speak for themselves.

This fall, MAX has added another exclusive hit series to the mix with Transgressions (Reckoning), a blockbuster thriller from Australia. Plus new seasons of all the favourite series our viewers have come to enjoy, including Mayans M.C., Supergirl, Orange is the new black, Turbulences (Manifest), and Marvel: les agents du S.H.I.E.L.D. Speciality TV has never been better!

MAX will also feature new appetizers to make suppertime viewing more satisfying than ever with classics like Le mentaliste, La loi et l’ordre: crimes sexuels, (Law & Order: SVU), Bones, and Dr. House. Both Bones and Dr. House will include new episodes as a special treat for their many fans. The weekday evening lineup closes with an all-new, never-before-seen season of X-Files: aux frontières du réel (X-Files: on the frontiers of reality).

MAX continues to offer the best selection of movies to suit any taste, from tearjerkers and thrillers to megahits and premieres. Movie nights are presented under themes like Spies, Detectives, the Middle Ages, a Halloween Weekend, and special evenings focusing on famous stars of the silver screen, including Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Eddy Murphy.
